MacGyver Movie

Do you remember MacGyver? The popular hero of the 1980's TV series who was able to build anything from a toy to a bomb with just an army knife and unexpected daily-life items? Well, back in 2008 at Maker Faire 2008, Lee David Zlotoff, the creator of MacGyver, said that there were plans for a MacGyver movie. Unfortunately the project didn't get fast-track...

Meanwhile its satirical twin MacGruber was the first to make it to the big screen. Lee Zlotoff didn't appreciate to be left behind, he even threatened legal action against MacGruber, claiming it infringed on his rights to one day make a MacGyver movie. But universal still went ahead with MacGruber's release. But on the day that MacGruber hits theaters, Warner Bros stole the thunder from Universal's movie by announcing that the MacGyver movie is officially greenlit! I say fair game!

Scriptwritter Jason Richman has been hired to pen the screenplay of the MacGyver movie. Raffaella De Laurentiis, Martha De Laurentiis and series creator Lee Zlotoff will be the producers of the film.

Here's the opening of the original MacGyver TV series:

MACGYVER

I doubt Richard Dean Anderson, who's a bit old by now, will reprise his role as MacGyver, but I'm pretty sure he will be back for a cameo.

So, what actor do you think should be hired as the new MacGyver?
